Check out WhatsApp new feature for retailers

WhatsApp is bringing catalogs to the WhatsApp Business app to make it easier for users to find out more about products and services that businesses offer.

WhatsApp makes it easy for people to chat with small businesses, but when it comes to getting information about products, things can get tedious – especially for business owners. To solve this problem,  WhatsApp is now introducing catalogs to WhatsApp Business, a new feature that creates “a mobile storefront for businesses to showcase and share their goods,” giving customers easier access to products and services – and information about them.

The new feature enforces the current mobile eCommerce trends by allowing people to browse and discover products, as well as chat with a business right within the app interface. Businesses can then share specific products from their catalog with their customers in a WhatsApp message.

Business owners shouldn’t worry about their phone storage, as WhatsApp will host catalogs, thus ensuring that both businesses and their customers keep their valuable storage.

Catalogs for WhatsApp Business are now launching on Android and iOS, in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the UK, and the US. The feature is expected to roll out in the rest of the world soon.

Mobile eCommerce is on the rise, and WhatsApp is following the trend. According to a recent report from BigCommerce, it is predicted that by 2021, in-app mobile eCommerce sales are expected to account for 54% of total eCommerce sales.

It’s clear that the future is all about consumer convenience, and WhatsApp’s new catalog feature for small businesses delivers just that.

How To Get Started With Catalog WhatsApp Business

Catalogs are only accessible on the latest version of the WhatsApp Business app, so make sure your app is up-to-date.

  1. Open the app and go to “Settings.”
  2. Select “Business Settings” and then “Catalog.”
  3. You will then need to “Add Product or Service” where you’ll be asked to supply product pictures, price, link, description, and product code (if you want).
  4. Hit save once complete.
